Hunger v Appetite

Appetite is different from hunger but the two are linked. Hunger is the physiological need for food, driven by internal cues such as an empty stomach, low blood sugar. Appetite is the desire to eat, driven by seeing or smelling something appealing.
So acknowledge when you are hungry and eat when your body needs fuel, but make these meals appetising by using lots of fresh foods in a variety of colours to feed all the senses. That way you will never feel deprived and be able to stick to your healthy eating goals.
